Haiku/Gesundheit (Volume XLIV)

thoughts concerning belly splinters

can a cat die from
eating a wooden chicken?
i wait patiently

i always do this!

the box that won't shut
reads "please open other end"
well now you tell me
get a conference room, girls

your restroom banter
makes things uncomfortable
please will you leave now?
to the person who recommended someone down on their luck "just get used" to being unhappy

looks like suicide
hotlines aren't really your "niche"
volunteer elsewhere

I think boxes should be more obvious about which end you are supposed to open. You know, like soda cans.
Did you take notes during the restroom conference?
This last one...well, do we need to talk?

the wind moved past us -
I saw you shake like morning,
urgent and frantic

the shovel cut through
the strata of snow. ends - it
never ends like this

watch and watching you
drink too much again, you are
a dirty mirror

these words fall off trees,
past ripe and too soft, then zing
out from the mower

dern it, ds, i'm tempted to give you your own post once again. and i probably will later.

seriously, man. do you read bukowski? not that you're a cc of him by any means, but your words always hit me a little like some of his do.

when time allows, i may have to start a blog where my poet friends (you listening, DWC?) can log-in and post. i believe blogger allows for multiple authors.

you know, tw, I've read about 10 lines of Bukowski. and one other time somebody passingly likened myself to him. so I have avoided it like the plague. I would appreciate it if you would let me know what it is that 'smacks' of him, so that I can try and change it. I'm sure he's great and all, he's just not the one I'm trying to emulate. thanks much.

ds - I was worried you'd say that. It's not how you write that reminds me of Bukowski; it's the type of impact the words leave.

well, that's ok then.
