Global Warming
After all of my gripes and complaints regarding the tempature woes in my apartment, I found it pretty ironic when I came home a couple days ago and saw this metallic beast near my front door.
If this misplaced radiator is anything like the blood/oil spill they left outside of my window, it could be there for months.

Something's missing. When are they going to deliver the broken-down washing machine to complete the set?
I like the way the light hits it. Very dramatic.
Matt - Probably right after they move one or two of the junk cars parked along the street (including mine) into the courtyard.
Blood and oil spill? What, did a car get stabbed or something?
Winter: While it's true that's the way the security light hit it, it was hard to tell with my original picture. I posted the original at home thinking it looked fine, but when I checked in on it at work (different type of computer, different browser), the radiator was just a black blob.
A long way of saying I've got to give credit to an artist co-worker who helped me clean it up.
James - I've never determined which of the two it was. I came home from work one day to note a red, somewhat vicuous puddle on the sidewalk under my window. It was just thick enough that it didn't spread too much... but just thin enough, and just red enough, that it looked a lot like blood. About two weeks later, someone tried to cover it with sand, but it soaked through.
So I called it the "blood spot," though I think (hope) it was oil.
Either way, it was there for months. May even still be there; I won't know until the snow melts.
what an amazing picture! for some reason i thought of o. henry as soon as i saw it, i'm not sure why. perhaps, henry roth.
