This is Why I Don't Need Narcotics

Next time you're at a loss for a means to pass the time, go to a gym.

Pile the weight on to a leg extension machine. Do as much as you can... and then a little more.

And then, still sitting (but no longer pulling up on the machine), perform the same motion.

Your legs will be floating.

I promise you.

I wasted about five minutes of everyone's time yesterday just letting my legs swing loose like a pendulum.

I've never claimed to be anything other than easily amused.

You say easily amused like it is a bad thing.

Is this kind of the same feeling you climb your butt off up the side of a mountain then, when you get to the top, you turn around and you are in a high gear and gravity is with you and you just spin like mad for a second? Just wondering.

You don't need narcotics. Endorphins are free.

This is Why I Need Narcotics:

Last Tuesday I tore my hamstring at work. They go good with single malt scotch. They go good with muscle relaxers. They go good with self medicating. They go good with gin. They go good with poet. They go good with what I forgot. They go good with goodbye.

You can get the same effect by holding your arms against your sides, then having a friend hold them there while you try to push out (like you were going to fly). Then when your friend removes pressure, your arms will "float" up all by themselves.

See, you're not the only one easily amused...

When ever I get the feeling that I should exercise, I sit down... until the feeling passes.
