Sony Has Left the Blogging

So my camera is officially kaput. Did I mention that? It hasn't worked at all the last several times I tried.

The realization of which was all the more painful when I spotted a purple, pimped-out hearse — complete with a faux fur steering column — and I was wholly unable to get the thing to function.

And so it's with a heavy heart that I turn to Best Buy... and let the camera shopping begin.

PS - The timing couldn't be better. The only other things I have to buy in the next month include: the first month's rent and security deposit at my new pad (2K); a down payment on a new car (2K); fees for movers (about $500); renewal of my cat's medical plan (don't laugh - $220); and a new computer (about 1K); and yes, a new camera (about $300).

I couldn't be more thrilled.

P.P.S. - The alternative title to this post should've been "a lesson in sarcasm."

P.P.P.S. - The alternative title to the alternative should've been "doesn't this girl ever stop complaining?"

P.P.P.P.S. - This is the last one. I promise.

P.P.P.P.P.S. - I lied.

Winter - Do you know what kidneys are going for on eBay?

No. Seriously... do you?

Noo! Don't do Best Buy! It's awful and a rip-off. Try Tiger Direct or Fry's.

You can't sell organs on eBay. They decided it was unethical or something silly like that. You'll have to find a reputable black market organ agent.

Why is it once the universe realizes that you are in a bad spot, it piles on?

Good luck. If I can help, let me know.

You can buy your camera wherever you wish, however I just ask that you NOT buy from Circuit City. An evil company. Evil. Evil. Evil.

LeA - I bought my last camera there, and I was a tad appalled at their "warranty" options. Not THAT'S a ripoff. My camera broke just after the three-year deal would've expired. Good thing I didn't pay the extra scratch for it.

Still, you make a valid point. I've actually mostly been shopping at "real" camera joints.

DWC - Are you referring to the layoffs? Or did you have a bad shopping experience?

Prioritize, get the camera first and then the car. Live in it and ditch the stuff, wireless laptop.
Keep your organs and well I am unsure of what to do with the cat.

BPP - I really appreciate the offer. I think I'll be OK, though. It'll just be a matter of scraping by for a couple months until I recover and/or receive the security deposit back from my current place (which won't help a lot, but will some). What bothers me is that I'm going to have to tap into my savings to make this work. I'm lucky I have it there, but I hate the idea of having to use it.

Well, the whole reason you save for a rainy day is so you have it when it rains. :) And right now you are getting drenched. At least you had the savings. Smart of you.

Funny how things break after the warranty dies. Almost like they have it down or something.
