Revelation

I am so profoundly, inexcusably and mind-numbingly bored with myself, and my life.

Help.

Get thee on a jet plane and wing your way to some foreign land...nothing better to banish boredom.

Pretty sure that makes me a bad fiance.

I'll try to do better.

grab your camera; go somewhere (anywhere - you seem to be able to find a good photograph anywhere); enter it here; then tell us.

You want to babysit my children? Or my drunken sailor? They are always good for a few laughs

Come on out here. There are always things to do, especially now that spring is coming on. (How do I know it's spring? Cause the sun is shining while it snows.) Seriously, if you can find a way and the time, my door is open and I'll even change the sheets.

In two weeks, your boredom will lessen a bit.

get drunk and go for a walk. I know you like walking. God knows there's somewhere within walking distance to get a bottle of wine. walk there. maybe pour it in plastic cup or something. walk around. I know you don't drink much, but power through that first 5 sips and it'll smooth out. go sit on a bench somewhere. write some poems. spit. fart. wear a funny hat. then stagger back home and sleep it off. but for God's sake, don't get yourself killed up there. play it safe, dude. then come to my party.

in defense of boring...

i, too, get mind-numbingly, painfully bored with my mundane existence. i get up and change baby's diapers, i go to work, i come home and change baby's diapers, eat dinner, then struggle for a few hours with the writing thing. if i'm not too tired, i'll read, too.

but living in interesting times has its dangers, too. try to savior the things in your life that make you happy, and endeavor to have more of them.

hokey advice, i know, but the more i've tried not to be bored, the more trouble i get into. like throwing up and sleeping with inappropriate people, not necessarily at the same time. yes, go try new things, meet new people, even think about a new job and city, but you're far too interesting of a person to be boring, and far too creative to be bored.

whew. glad to get that out of my patronizing system. hope it helps.

MY mom always told me to go find someone who needs your kindness --
do a good deed -- love someone who is not lovable --

It is true. It is very fulfilling.
